Christopher Dale Perkins passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 5th; he was 29 years old. Chris was born on March 2nd, 1987 in Zanesville, Ohio to Bradley and Cindy Jewett Perkins.  A long-time resident of New Concord, Chris had moved to Tulsa when a job opportunity presented itself. His journey in the working world began at Ruby Tuesday’s. From there he went into management, operating an I-Hop, a Sprint store, and finally as a District Manager for Popeye’s Chicken, where he oversaw the establishment of 4 restaurants in Tulsa. He had a great zest for life, and a love for people. He enjoyed any kind of physical activity including skiing and tennis.  He loved music, had started to learn to play the guitar, and enjoyed singing Karaoke.  He belonged to Phi Kappa Tau.  His real specialty came when he was seven years old, and he learned how to make his grandmother green onion sandwiches; which they would eat together on picnics in the woods.

He is predeceased by his mother, Cindy Jewett Perkins, and his grandfather, Floyd Perkins.  He is survived by his father, Brad Perkins, his sister, Alicia Dunlap, his grandmother, Bonnie Perkins,  his maternal grandparents, Russell and Phyllis Jewett, and his aunts and uncle, Lisa Perkins, Candy (Daniel) Fisher, Shari (Harold) Sharrock, Rusty (Sara) Jewett, and Heidi Ford.  He also leaves to cherish his memory his three best friends, Dan Townsend, Nathan Raines, and Bryan Ruff; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers, and friends.

Friends and family may attend calling hours for Chris at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Thursday, June 9th from 2 to 8PM.  A service will follow on Friday at the funeral home at 11AM, burial will follow at the Guernsey County Memory Gardens.  Pastors Steve and Tabby Wollard will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Suicide Prevention Resource Center Education Development Center, Inc., 1025 Thomas Jefferson Street, NW Suite 700, Washington, DC 20007.
