Chris L Durst

Chris L. Durst passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital on Sunday, May 24th following an illness, he was 68 years old.  He was born in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to Wally and Helen Durst.  Chris was a welder by trade, working at his craft for 32 years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching westerns, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, and going out to eat At Mr. Lee’s Restaurant.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, his special love, Shirley Wade, his step-grandchildren; Mackenzie Shepherd, Jimmy Stull, and Samantha Stull.  He is survived by his children, John Lewis Durst and Christy Durst.  He also leaves to cherish his memory his stepchildren, Christina (Phillip) Shepherd, Crystal (Randy Morrow) Beach, Cynthia Stull, Candy (Rob) Hugh, Arnold Wade, Harold “BJ” (Heidi) Wade, and Carl “Richard” (Brandy) Dodd.  In addition, he will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Skyler, Travis, and Lacey Durst as well as his step-grandchildren including Matthew, Makayla, and Megan Shepherd, Summer and Blaze Haugh, Kaitlyn Beach, Maddie and Logan Morrow, Alexis and Karsynn Hagan, Tyler Wade, and Braxton Dodd.  He will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Shriver Patterson, his girlfriend, Dorothy Van Horn,  his best friend, Martha Bailey, his childhood friends, Donald “Sammy” Ray Burn and Harry “Fuzzy” Farley.

Friends and family may attend calling hours at the Farus Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30th from 10am to 12 Noon, with services starting promptly at 12 Noon.  Burial will follow at the Bloomfield Cemetery.
