Charles "Dick" Vessels

Charles R "Dick" Vessels passed away Monday (March 28, 2016) in Sun City West, Arizona surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 9, 1931, son of the late Hayes and Gladys Vessels in Cambridge Ohio. He, along with his wife Neva, owned and operated Vessels General Store of Claysville for 20 years, as well as the "Old” Store Antiques. Dick graduated from Bliss College with a degree in Business Administration, and later on became a licensed apprentice auctioneer. From there he worked for Baker Brothers Wholesale Groceries of Zanesviile. He worked for the Heinz Company as a salesman; and in the construction and building of The Living Word Amphitheater, he then became General Manager. He operated County Coins and Guns along with Parkway Motor Sales in the early 90's.

Dick had a love of collecting guns, coins, antiques, and collectables all of his life. Dick was a loving and giving person; always wanting to lend a hand to help others.  He then moved to Arizona to enjoy his passion of collecting antiques and guns. Even though he has lived in Arizona for the last 20 plus years he has always kept up with the John Glenn Muskies Sports; recently following the Muskies Basketball exciting win to become the State Champs.  He was always a Muskie Fan at heart!  He kept up with the Ohio State Sports especially Ohio State Football. Dick was a long life member of Claysville United Methodist Church. He attended Trinity Bible Church in Sun City West.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Wilda.  Dick is survived by his wife, Janice " Jan" Vessels, two daughters, Sandy (Bill) Myers, and Pamela (Dwight) Robinson both of Cambridge. Three Grandchildren Derrick (Shandon) Gingerich,, Denita (Ty) Hursey, and Darren Myers. Three Great Grandchildren, Easton, Jace and Jocee, and a special cousin, Bernard (Kay ) Wheeler.

Visitations will be at 10:00 with service following immediately at 11:00 on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Farus Funeral Home in New Concord, Ohio, with pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Claysville United Methodist Church, Claysville Road, Claysville, Ohio 43725
