Charles G. Gray

Charles G’ “Gussie” Gray, 81 of Blue Rock passed away peacefully at his home on October 31, 2016.
Charlie was born in Newark on October 23, 1935, the son of the late Charles and Florence (Negele) Gray. He retired in 1998 from Newark Telephone / Alltel. He enjoyed camping, Nascar, fishing, he loved pontooning down the river and he was a member of the High Hill Sportsman Club.
Charlie is survived by his wife Penny Gray whom he married October 3, 1991; his children Ed (Carla) Gray of St. Louisville, Raymond (Donna) Gray of Newark, Marsha (John) Cave of Newark, James (Jennifer) Gray of Utica and Laura (Bob) Franks of Newark; his nine grandchildren Charlie Gray, Sarah, (Asim) Naz, Zach (Nikki) Gray, Lacey (Nick) Browning, Kelsey (Andrew) Higgins, Alisha Roberts, Creston Gray, Emma Franks and Bobby Franks; four great-grandchildren Jacob Gray, Justin Gray, Amira Naz and Lola Browning; his step son Scott (Kelly) Bendure; his step-great-grandchildren Jerry, Jessie Cole and Luke; his step-great grandchildren, Zep and Harper; the mother of his children Margaret Gray; his sister Nancy (Clair) Kinkade of Newark; several nieces and nephews and his furry pals Millie, Molly and Boots.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Charlies name to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville or to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Genesis Hospice, their staff, and a special thanks to Wendi.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral service will be 11 am Friday. He will be laid to rest in Rocky Fork Church of Christ Cemetery, Newark.
