Charles W. Bickford, 80 of Cannelville, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, February 3, 2025.
Born January 9, 1945, to the late Wade and Rosa (Harper) Bickford. He worked at a farm in his younger days. Charlie was a laborer since 1967 for Local 530 in Zanesville for thirty-five years. He was an extremely dedicated worker, only missing about ten days of work in his life. After retirement, he junked cars and logged and cut fire wood.
Charlie enjoyed bowling, sports, playing cards, demolition derbies, camping, and most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Charlie is survived by his wife of fifty years, Martha (Erwin) Bickford, whom he married on September 27, 1974; his children, Stacie (Scott) Glaub, Justin (Michele) Bickford, Charles A. Bickford; his grandchildren, Alexa Glaub, Hallie (Logan) Watts, Hayden (Chloe) Glaub, Ian Glaub, Brianna Mortimer, Andrew Glaub, Haden Mortimer, Adalyn Glaub, Jason Beem, Jesica Hummel, Destiny Sharrer, Brenden Bickford, and Camren Hohnwald; his great-grandchildren, Kasien, Novah, Nylah, Mylah, Coen, Alivia, Remington, Xavier, Branson, and another baby girl on the way; his siblings, Wanda (John) Beisser, Rick (Cindy) Bickford, and Roger (Dorothy) Bickford; his siblings-in-law, Bob Brewer, Pam Taylor, Judy (Joe) McCabe, and Kennith Boyd; his good friend, Darwin Walters; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his siblings, Betty (Fred) VanFossen, Virginia (Fred) Dennis, Jean Brewer, and Raymond (Marge) Bickford; as well as his siblings-in-law, Tina Boyd, Richard Erwin, and Richard Taylor.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pam, Charlie’s sister-in-law, as well as the hospice care, nurse aids, and Minister Don Harris for all the help and support.
Visitations for Charles will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Visitations will also be held from 12 pm to 1 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow visitations at 1 pm. Pastor Don Harris will officiate the service. Charles will be laid to rest at Stovertown Lutheran Church Cemetery.
