Carylon F. Osburn, 86, of New Concord, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at Genesis Hospital after a month-long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Carylon was born in Nitro, West Virginia, on March 22, 1940. Carylon was a devoted homemaker who found her greatest joy in caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. She raised her children and grandchildren with a fantastic sense of humor. Carylon had a deep love for the outdoors, especially spending time in her garden and tending to her rose bushes. An animal lover at heart, especially babies, and a woman of strong faith, she lived with kindness and compassion. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carylon is survived by her beloved husband of sixty five years, Meredith Osburn, whom she married on February 18, 1961; her children, Lecia (Mike) McClellan of TN, Michael (Anita) Osburn of VA, Tammy (Steven) Malanowski of OH, Carol Osburn of OH, David (Trayce) Osburn of OH; her former son-in-law, Marc Phillips of TN; her former daughter-in-law, Tamara Brennan; her eleven grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandson on the way; her sister, Mary Ann Davis; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Addlene Lenora (Hamrick) Hedrick and Hollis Hedrick; her twin sister, Marylon Fox; her maternal grandparents, Rosie and Ray Hamrick; and her great-grandson, Raylon Malanowski.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the First Church of God, 1930 Newark Road, in Zanesville, Ohio. A funeral service will follow visitations at 1 PM. Pastor Steven Malanowski and Pastor James Childers will officiate the service. A caring cremation will follow.
