Carol J. Leonard, 66 of Cumberland passed away peacefully with her husband, son and loving friends by her side on March 10, 2017 while under the care of Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Cambridge.
Carol was born in Byesville on June 6, 1950. She is the daughter of Encil R. and Catherine E. (Gabel) Parsons. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed making crafts, crocheting and macramé as well as being an avid bingo player and bowler. She was a faithful member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church, where she was in charge of sending out ‘get well’ cards to the people on the prayer chain of the church. She loved her animals, especially her wiener-dog Frankie.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Timothy N. Leonard Sr., whom she married March 14, 1969; her son T.J. and Krystal Leonard of Cumberland; two step-grandchildren Tony and Amber Urdak and one step-great granddaughter Blake Maxene Ewing.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her sister Gloria McGilton.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 pm Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Cumberland. Funeral Services will be held 11 am Tuesday, at the Cumberland United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Cumberland Cemetery.
