C. Richard Zesiger

C. Richard “Rick” Zesiger, 76, of Chandlersville, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on May 7, 2022.

He was born in New Martinsville, WV on January 18, 1946.  He was the son of the late Wayne Zesiger and Hazel (Moore) Zesiger.

Rick was a Veteran of the United State Navy, a former Certified Public Accountant with S.R. Snodgrass and Company, and retired as the Chief Financial Officer for Assurex Global.

Rick graduated from Steubenville High School and he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from West Liberty University.

Rick enjoyed the outdoors, loved spending winters in Florida, but his greatest joy in life was time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Rick’s sense of humor and love for life will be missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Mackenson) Zesiger.  They were married June 20, 1969,  Rick is survived by his three children whom he dearly loved, John (Penny) Zesiger of Reedsville, PA; Christopher (Amy) Zesiger of York, SC; and Craig (Susan) Zesiger of Westerville, OH; six wonderful grandchildren; Heather (Andrew) Eddy, Justin Adams, Tallon Zesiger, Mackenna Zesiger, Carter Zesiger, and Morgan Zesiger.  Also surviving are siblings, Gary (Vicki) Zesiger of Midwest City, OK, Ginger (Ed) Marsh of Wheeling, WV, and Pam (Jeff) Drazic of Steubenville, Ohio, and a brother-in-law, Chuck Simmons.

In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Jean Simmons

The family would like to thank the staff at the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University for their wonderful care and support.

Visitations will be held from 1 to 3 pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the Buffalo Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 302 West Main Street, Cumberland, Ohio.  Funeral services will take place at 3 pm with Pastor’s Jim Gibson and Noah Barr officiating.

He will be laid to rest at 1:30 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Blendon Central Cemetery in Westerville, Ohio.  Full military honors will be conducted by the US Army Color Guard.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Farus Funeral Home of Cumberland.
