C. Dean Newland

C. “Dean” Newland, 82 of McConnelsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House in Zanesville.

Dean was born on July 16, 1941, in Arkansas. He is the son of the late John D. and Inell (Thomas) Newland. Dean loved his country and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. He was employed at the Ohio Ferro Alloy, Essix Wire, Derby Oil & Gas, and Autozone. In his free time, Dean enjoyed spending time with the ones he loved, as well as spending time in the outdoors hunting. He was a hardworking son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by the ones he leaves behind.

Dean is survived by his stepson, Richard L. (Phyllis) Goldsmith Sr.; his brothers, Tom (Beth) Newland and Joe Newland.

In addition to his parents, Dean is preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Newland.

A graveside service will be held for Dean at 11 AM on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Duncan Falls Cemetery. Pastor Jamie Harrop will officiate the service.   He will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors provided by George Selsam VFW #1058.  The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Newland family.
