Brenda J. Linscott

Brenda J. Linscott, 63 of Crooksville, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on July 17, 2024 after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on April 16, 1961 in Zanesville, to Ralph and Shirley Drake.

She was a Philo High School 1979 graduate, and graduated from the Vocational Schools nursing program, worked lifelong nurse, worked for over 20 years at Primecare in Zanesville and then for the Columbus Veterans Affairs as a nurse until retirement in 2024. Loved dogs, was an avid dog trainer, a member of the American Kennel Association and Assistant Director and trainer at CATC ‘Columbus All Breed Training Club in Columbus.  She was a life long caregiver to everyone, she always put everyone first from her family to her friends.

Brenda is survived by parents, husband Larry Linscott; one daughter, Toray L. Carrel; one grand daughter Laykin R. Starkey; three brothers, Eric Drake, Tim and Amy Drake, and Chris and Jennifer Drake; nieces and nephews, Michael, Ashley, Hannah, Ben and Douglas; several cousins including a dear cousin Patty Baesel; a special friends Renee Moses and her two special K-9 companions, Jester and Dutchess.

A gathering of her friends will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.  Pastor Gary Cooper will officiate the service.  A private burial will take place in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
