Bobby Dale Samson Jr, 59, of Newark, formerly of Philo, passed away at 1:14 pm, Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Bobby Dale was born April 11, 1955 in Zanesville to Robert Samson of Duncan Falls and the late Pauline Edington Samson.
Bobby Dale was a mechanic for the Muskingum County Sherriff office and a very talented musician. He played in the bands Destination Blues for 10 years and was a member of the McGuffey Lane Band for 5 years. Bobby Dale is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark.
He is survived by his father and step mother Robert and Peggy Samson of Duncan Falls, a sister Doty Samson of Zanesville. A step son Kurt Shipley of Newark and a step daughter Kayla Turner of Newark. His grandchildren are Bryce Turner and Avery Shipley. A step brother Edward Bauer and step sister Brenda White. Neice is Sheena (Nate) Lashley, nephews are Phillip Ivey, Chris Ivey, and Adam Samson. His pet companion is Jo-Jo.
He is preceded in death by his wife Connie Samson who just passed away Nov 12, 2014, who was his high school sweet heart. A sister Polly Samson in May 2013. His grandparents Albert & Dora Samson and Frankie & Lafern Edington, and a neice Santana Ivey.
Friends may call 6 to 8 Sunday (Nov 30, 2014) at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls, where the funeral services will be at 8 pm with Joe McMullens officiating.
