Blanca E. Lam, 79, of Duncan Falls, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. She was known as “Mama” or “Blanqui” to all who knew and loved her.
She was born on November 1, 1946, in El Tumbador, Guatemala, a daughter of the late Macario Lam and Felipa Lopez de Lam.
Blanca immigrated to the United States from Guatemala in 1969, beginning her new life in Oakland, California and then moving to Burbank, CA a few years later where she spent most of her life. She worked numerous banking jobs throughout her life and retired from ITT Aerospace after working in the accounts payable department for many years. Blanca loved spending time with her family, caring for her grandchildren, and traveling.
As an avid traveler, Blanca took many trips all over the country and the world, including China, Europe, Israel, Australia, Canada, and Japan. She regularly visited Guatemala, where she would spend time with her extended family. Blanca was a wonderful chef, known for her salsa, enchiladas, taquitos, and famous Christmas roast. She was very active in her faith, attending the Sunland Neighborhood Church in Sunland, California, and Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls, Ohio. She loved the Lord with all her heart.
Her family will remember her for her enormous heart, boundless energy, and endless desire to give to others.
Blanca is survived by her two daughters and son-in-laws, Kathi & Mica Hollingsworth of Duncan Falls, OH, and Erika & Jason Fitch of Burbank, CA; her grandchildren, Kyra (& Max) Ungerman, Joshua Hollingsworth, Olivia Fitch, and Andrew Fitch; her sister, brother-in-law and brothers, Tita & Lico Quan, Julio Cesar Lam and Gregario Lam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Blanca is preceded in death by her siblings, Everildo, Carlos, Carmencita, Macario and Alis.
Celebrations of Blanca’s life will be held in November in both Ohio and California, exact dates and times to be announced.
