B.J. Tom

B.J. Tom, 50 of Chandlersville, passed away as the result of an accident on his property on June 18, 2022.

B.J. was born in Zanesville on February 28, 1972, the son of Joe and Robin (Best) Tom of Chandlersville.  He was the owner and operator of Advanced Electric since 1996, and he spent many hours teaching his sons the electrical trade.  He enjoyed hunting, shooting, fishing, golfing, playing horseshoes and cards, cooking, and riding his side by side with his wife, family and friends. He was active in 4-H, and coached his boys in the Chandlersville Baseball League.  He was a beloved friend to many and always welcomed anyone with open arms.

In addition to his parents, B.J. is survived by his wife Missy (Ault) Tom, whom he married September 21, 1991; his two beloved sons, Matt (Lydia) Tom and J.D. Tom; his sister, Susie (Brandon Sampson) Tom; his two nephews, Brady and Blake Sampson; his In-Laws; Bill and Sue Ault, and their children, Vicki (Kevin) Bailey, Andy (Susan) Ault, Mike and Dessie Ault, and Jim and Maggi Ault.

B.J. is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Edna (Patton) Tom; his paternal grandfather and step grandmother, Dalton (Alice) Tom; his maternal grandparents Charles L. and Violet A. (Hennen) Best.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in B.J.’s name to the charity of your choice.

Visitations will be from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Cornerstone Church, 4509 Salt Creek Drive, Duncan Falls, Ohio 43734, where funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday.  Pastor Jamie Harrop will officiate the service.  B.J. will be laid to rest in the Salt Creek Cemetery, Chandlersville.  The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Tom family.
