Betty Jean Mason
January 20, 1933 — October 8, 2017
Betty Jean Mason, 84, passed away on October the 8th, 2017 after losing her battle to cancer; she was in the loving presence of her family as she was called home. Betty was born January 20, 1933 in Dresden to Henry and Elizabeth Gill. Betty owned and operated the Wild Wood camp ground for many years, she was a 4-H advisor, and cherished her family and friends. She treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren most of all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry James Mason, 10 siblings, her grandson, John Hammonds, and a special nephew, Ralph Michael Vore. She leaves behind a daughter, “Uncle” Billie (Alva) McKoyes, three grandchildren, including Bobbi Hammonds, Joyce (Greg) Crawford, and Willy (Kim) Hammonds. She will be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren, Kelly and Sara McDonald, Kevin (Kelsea) McDonald, Samantha (Chad) Starcher, Joshua Norman, Hunter Scott, Torri Hammonds, PFC Tanner Hammonds, 10 great-great grandchildren, and her special friends, Cyndi Hall and Mariah Rolli.
Friends and Family are welcome to attend calling hours for Betty at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 12 Noon. Services will begin at 1PM, and burial will follow at St Paul Cemetery.
