Betty Ann (Fitz) Baker, a devoted wife, treasured mother and loving grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Sugar Land, TX on May 20, 2024 at the age of 91.
Born on September 19, 1932 in Philo, OH to Bernard (B.G.) and Lena Fitz, Betty Ann was raised with 8 brothers and sisters whom she loved and admired. She spent her whole childhood in Philo and fell in love with a boy from the other side of the tracks in Duncan Falls named Alan (Al) Baker. That high school sweetheart would become her husband whom she would travel the world with while he worked in the oil business with the Halliburton Company. They embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter and shared adventures and their marriage was a partnership built on mutual respect, unwavering devotion and a deep-seated commitment to family. Betty Ann and Al were blessed with two children, Mark and Roxanne, whom they raised with boundless love and care.
A woman of small stature and immense grace, Betty Ann's zest for life and infectious laugh illuminated every room she entered. She never lost sight of what truly mattered: love, laughter and the bonds of family and friendship. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating treasured memories on the golf course and at the dinner table that will be remembered for generations to come. Betty Ann's legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness and her unwavering spirit.
Betty Ann is survived by her loving husband of over 73 years, Alan; her two children, son Mark and wife Paula and daughter Roxanne (Baker) Andersen and husband John; her grandchildren, Regan (Baker) Nabors and husband Clint, Jonathan Andersen and Erica (Andersen) Comfort and husband Dave and two great-grandchildren, Baker Nabors and Betty Comfort.
She is also survived by her two siblings, Jerry Fitz and Evelyn Moore and numerous extended family members.
Betty Ann was preceded in death by her parents B.G. and Lena Fitz, four brothers and two sisters.
Betty Ann’s family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Luz, Anne, Noemi and Liliana who provided compassionate support and dedicated care to Betty Ann during the later stages of her life. They are forever cherished members of the family.
A celebration of Betty Ann's life will be held at Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls, OH on Wednesday, May 29th with Visitation from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM and her Service immediately following.
