Bertha Patience Ballantine

Bertha P. Ballantine passed away peacefully in her home, in the loving presence of her family, on Sunday, May 29th, she was 85 years old.  She was born in Lore City Ohio on September 2nd, 1930 to Dailey and Lillian Foraker.  She was a member of the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church; she was deeply spiritual, and knew every hymn by heart.  Bertha treasured her family, and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed sewing.

She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John Lee Ballantine, who passed away on July 29, 2011, as well as her sisters, May Vorhees, Clair Seigferd, Mary Pearl Foraker, Mabel White, Florence Skaggs, and Doris Larrick, and her brothers, William, John, Harold, Bob, and Gerald Foraker.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Terry) Parker, her son, Gary (Darlene) Ballantine, her grandchildren, Chad (Kristin) Parker, Jami (Jeremy) Passwaters, and Cory, Jeff (Amy), Elizabeth, Rebekah, Carrie, John, Samuel, Andrew, and Kate Ballantine, as well as her greatgrandchildren, Caden and Cohen Parker, and Robbie Passwaters            Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours for Bertha at the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 2nd  from 10 to11AM, with services starting immediately thereafter at 11AM Sharp.  Burial will follow at the St. Paul Cemetery, and Pastor Tim Pollock will officiate.  The family would like to thank the staff of Genesis Hospice for the kindness and care shown to their family.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ballantine Scholarship Fund, 1800 Bloomfield Road, New Concord, OH 43762 or to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701
