Barbara G. Swingle

Barbara Swingle, 81 of Philo, passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House on July 17, 2016.

Barbara was born in Rose Farm, OH on March 2, 1935.  She was the daughter of the late Oscar Robert and Lenore (Sohressen) Colborn.  She worked for Ron Halls Auto Parts for most of her life; she enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and she loved the time she was able to spend with her sister and sister-in-law. She cherished the many trips she took with her husband Kermit and their family to Canada fishing, and she was a member of Philo United Methodist Church.

Barbara is survived by her son Mike Swingle of Blue Rock; her two grandchildren Wesley Swingle and Stephanie (Morgan) Reed; her five great-grandchildren, Brice, Ellie, Mason, Caden and Ava; her sister Sue (Martindale) of Zanesville, her sister-in-law Deloris Wolfe of Philo and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kermit R. Swingle who passed away on March 9, 2016; her siblings Patricia Fisher, Raymond Colburn, Tommy Lewis and Marjorie (Lewis) Riffle.

Calling hours for friends and family will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm today, July 19, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held 10 am Wednesday with Pastor Dee Rader officiating.  She will be laid to rest in Iliff Cemetery, Crooksville.
