April 19, 1938 — September 5, 2016
Arnold R. Sims, 78, of Philo, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2016 while under the care of Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. Arnold was born in Somerset, Ohio on April 19th, 1938; the son of the late Fred and Sylvia (Anderson) Sims. He enjoyed working on old cars; he began driving for Dunn Trucking and retired from OK Coal in 2001 and he attended Cannelville United Methodist Church.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Sharon (Acheson) whom he married on May 18th, 1960; his daughters, Marie Madinger of Roseville, Tina Wheeler of Crooksville, and Kathy Moyer of Zanesville. He also leaves to cherish his memory 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a sister, Lavanna Ault of Zanesville, as well as several nieces and nephews and his dog Pooh.
In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Ault.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 on Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held the following day, on Thursday the 8th starting at 11am; with Pastor Mary Beth Snyder officiating. He will be laid to rest in Stovertown Cemetery Cemetery.
