Archie E. Thorla

Archie E. Thorla, 92, of Zanesville and formerly of Chandlersville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from pneumonia, while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.

Archie was born in Chandlersville on September 23, 1925.  He is the son of the late Melvin Willis and Helen Maude (Liggitt) Thorla.  He retired from Ray Thomas Lumbertown and from the Federal Aviation Administration and he was a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church.

Archie is survived by his wife Alta (Jones) Thorla, whom he married June 25, 1945; his daughter Diane (Glenn) Handy of Granville and his granddaughter Michala Handy.

In addition to his parents, Archie is preceded in death by his son David Thorla who passed away in 2007 and his two sisters, Eleanor Louise Huntsman and Margaret Emma Paisley.

Visitations will be 12 to 1 pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held at 1 pm with Dennis Allison officiating.  Private burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
