Alma P. French

Alma P. French, 92 of Blue Rock, passed away peacefully at Altercare Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Alma was born on November 28, 1931, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Homer W. and Sophrona S. (Nutter) Kirby. Alma was a devoted homemaker, dedicating her life to caring for her family and finding joy in watching them grow. She also tended to the family farm. Alma created a warm and loving home, where gatherings were filled with laughter, love, and her nurturing presence.

Alma is survived by her daughter, Darlene Massey of Zanesville, her granddaughter, Michelle (Dominic) Shaw; her two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Shaw and Austin Shaw; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. French, whom she married on November 15, 1950, and who passed away on November 5, 2014; as well as her son, Stephen French, who passed away in 1973.

A graveside service for Alma will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Obetz Cemetery, where Alma will be laid to rest. Reverend Darren Tolbert will officiate the service.
