Robert Hanes Davis

Robert Hanes Davis, 80 of Chandlersville, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Robert was born in Senecaville, Ohio, January 5, 1938.  He is the son of Arthur and Neva Hanes Davis.  He was a graduate of Cumberland-Spencer High School, Class of 1956.  He worked for Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for 15 years as a telegraph operator.  He retired from Central Ohio Coal Company where he was a heavy equipment supervisor for 28 years.

He was a member of Ark Spring Baptist Church where he served as Trustee and also a Trustee for the Ark Spring Cemetery Association.  He served in the National Guard.  Robert was a member of the Mid-Ohio Austin Healey Club, the National Rifle Association and American Legion Post #29.  Robert was a gifted wood worker.  A car restorer which included his Austin Healy, he worked so diligently on.

He married Elizabeth Ann Bethel on June 14, 1959.  Robert is survived by his wife Elizabeth Ann, one son, David (Kissy) of Pataskala, one grandson, Connor Davis.  Two brothers, Lee (Wanda) Davis of Longview, Texas, Richard Davis of Cumberland, one sister Phyllis Wiseman of Columbus.  A number of nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary Davis.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Roberts name to Ark Spring Cemetery Association, 3005 Palmer Drive, Chandlersville, Ohio 43727.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Robert from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.  Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, at the Ark Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Thomas, Rev. Don Day and Rev. Adam West officiating.  He will be laid to rest in Ark Spring Cemetery.
