Robert R. Swingle

Robert R. Swingle, 85 of Blue Rock, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his residence, with his loving family by his side.

Robert was born in Blue Rock on April 24, 1931.  He is the son of the late Wade and Mildred (Dickson) Swingle.  He retired from ODOT where he worked for over 31 years and he was a faithful member of the Woodlawn Church of Christ.

Robert is survived by his children, Elaine (Joe) Henthorne, Alan Swingle, Dale  Swingle, Linda (Mike) Smith, Diane Swingle, Donna (Paul) Hansel, Teresa Swingle and Sherry (Bill) Sands; his grandchildren Jeremy Smith, Joel Smith, Andrea Searls, Jessica Carse, Amanda Campbell, Jared Smith, Ryan Hansel, Alisha Keck, Nicholas Hansel, Douglas Sands, Melissa Moberly, Matthew Sands, Kyle Henthorne, Katie Sands; his great- grandchildren Rhylee Searls, Cade Searls, Sara Searls, Gracie Campbell, Lillian Campbell, Mason Campbell ,Caden Keck, Coleson Keck, Cashton Keck,  Chloe Hittle, Amelia Smith, Nora Carse, Jude Carse, Elizabeth Sands, Liam Hansel, and his two brothers Gene (Bernadine) Swingle of Mt. Perry and Paul Swingle of Blue Rock.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Catherine Swingle, who passed away April 11, 2013; his daughter Cindy Lou Swingle, a sister Gladys Snyder and his brother Ivan Swingle.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 19th at 11:00 with Rod Stockdale officiating.  He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
