Richard D. Trout

Richard D. “Dick” Trout, 85 of Duncan Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Genesis Hospice.

Richard was born in Philo on November 16, 1932.  He is the son of the late Harold E. and Virginia (Moore) Trout.  He was a 1950 graduate of Philo High School.  He began his working career with the Ohio Power Company and then went to work for Wayne Manufacturing, where he was a construction foreman, crane operator and welder.  He retired in 1995 after 33 years.  He served on the Wayne Township Fire Department from 1959 to 1979.  He served as Fire Chief in 1970, 1971 and 1972.  He was a lifetime member of the Duncan Falls United Methodist Church.

Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wava (Baker) Trout, whom he married May 3, 1953; his son, Tim (Janet) Trout of Duncan Falls, and his daughter, Lisa (Mike) Swope of Omaha, NE; his five grandchildren, Jason (Dani) Trout, Kyle (Abby) Trout, Kevin Swope, Kyle Swope and Brady Swope; his great grandchildren Rusty, Rylie, Reagan, Rogan, Ryder, Wyatt, Aubree, Westyn, and Kooper; his brother, Bill (Sarah) Trout of Duncan Falls and his sister-in-law, Evelyn Trout.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon Trout and an infant brother Keith.

Visitation will be 2 to 5 pm Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Pastor Karen Osborne will officiate.  He will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
