Percy Dale “Rocky” Conrad passed away peacefully while in the loving presence of his family on Friday, October 12th, 2018 at Altercare of Cambridge, he was 85 years old. Rocky was born on January 20th, 1933 in Herold, West Virginia to Worth and Mary (Browning) Conrad. Rocky proudly served in the United States Army, and worked as an MP while in the service. He was also a marksman. He was a simple man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery. He enjoyed golfing and while he regularly golf at Wildfire Golf Course he had played every course in the area. He was a member of the Eagles and the VFW. Rocky worked at Cambridge Tool and Die, did appliance repair, and was an entrepreneur.
He leaves to cherish his memory his special companion of over 20 years, Marlene Phillips of Cambridge, his sons, Terry Conrad of Cambridge, Darrel Conrad of Morristown, and his daughter, Connie Davis of Cambridge, as well as 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, Marlene’s children, Brenda (Dean) Houston of Byesville, Tom Hill and Tracy Hill of Cambridge, and Julie Johnson of Canton. His two brothers, Jim (Dean) Conrad of Mt Holly, N.C., Harley (Opal) Conrad, and his sister, Peggy Murphy of West Virginia; as well as a host of friends and former co-workers. Rocky is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Conrad, his son, Dale Conrad, and Laura Bell.
Per his wishes a comforting and care-filled cremation has taken place, services will take place at a later date. The family has entrusted Rocky’s care to the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord.
