Martha Mae Sorensen, 95 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2018 at The Oaks at Bethesda surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born in Philo on November 1, 1922. She is the daughter of the late George William and Emma Rose (Graham) Fisher. She worked for numerous years as a cook for Philo High School and she also babysat at her home for many children. She was a member of Philo United Methodist Church and a member of the Homemakers association. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing and painting.
Martha is survived by her son Daniel (Cathy) Sorensen of Zanesville; her daughter, Emily Sorensen of Kingman, AZ; her grandchildren Wes (Wendy Shipman) Sorensen, Kaitlyn Sorensen, Josh Stackhouse, Scott (Mary) Durst, Stacy (kelli) Durst, Katrina Swope, Priscilla (Martin Beach) Beardsley; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her furry faithful companion, Maggie
In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Sorensen; her daughter Becky Beardsley; an infant son, Greg Sorensen; a grandson, Christopher Beardsley, and her brothers, Hayes and Charles Fisher.
Visitations will be 4 to 6 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am on Monday with Pastor Joe DiVincenzo officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and infant son in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
