Marjorie C. Hanes

Marjorie C. Hanes, 94 of Zanesville passed away peacefully on July 10, 2017 while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Beckett House in New Concord. 

Marjorie was born in Zanesville on February 19, 1923.  She is the daughter of the late Ralph and Carolyn (Bendure) Hanes.  She worked for 35 years as a school teacher spending most of her career with the Cambridge City School District.  She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Zanesville; she loved spending her spare time going to yard sales, flea markets and to Amish Country and she was known as the family historian.

Marjorie is survived by her sister Dorothy Stemm; her four nephews and one niece, Alan (Robin) Hanes, Mary Ann (Ed) Rouan, Steve (Debbie) Hanes, Thomas (Shirley) Stemm and Robert (Denise) Stemm.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie is preceded in death by her two brothers George W. Hanes and Kermit B. Hanes.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 1 to 2 pm Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord.  Funeral Services will take place at 2 pm.  She will be laid to rest in Bowers Cemetery in Sonora.
