Julia A. “Grandma Judy” Bowers, 87 of Cannelville, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2018 while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.
Julia was born in Coshocton, Ohio on November 7, 1930. She is the daughter of the late Russell and Helen (Barcroft) Holskey. She was the founder of five generations, a loving, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She previously owned a penny candy store in Cannelville.
Julia is survived by her children, Shirley (Jerry) Starkey of Zanesville, David Bowers of Roseville and Everett (Tammy) Bowers of Cannelville; her grandchildren, Curt (Carlena) Ditter, Steve (Tammy) Neff, Everett (Sherry) Bowers, Marsha (Shawn) Mumaw, Chad (Jessica) Bowers, Cristy (Jeremy) Hawkins; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her brother, James (Colleen) Holskey in Mingo Junction and several nieces and nephews and her K-9 companion Brownie.
In addition to her parents, Julia is preceded in death her first husband, Everett Bowers; her special companion of many years, Floyd Anderson; her son, Richard Bowers; her grandson, Keith Neff and her two twin brothers, Bill and Bob Holskey.
Visitations will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday. Pastor Steve Harrop officiate the service. She will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville.
