Judith McCoy Knight

Judith McCoy Knight passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2017 while in the care of the Morrison House in Zanesville; she was 76 years old.  Judy was born in Joplin, MO on April 6, 1941 to Lyman Coleman and Dorothy (Johnson) Knight, Jr.  She enjoyed going on steamboat cruises on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers, dining on fine cuisine, golfing, and mentoring her many students whenever they needed help.  She also devoted a great deal of her time with Habitat for Humanity.  She worked as a Professor in numerous schools including Muskingum College and St. Andrews in North Carolina.  She majored in both chemistry and mathematics at Muskingum College, received her Master’s Degree from Wayne State University, and her Doctorate from University of Wisconsin of Milwaukee.  She also worked for Chemical Abstracts in Columbus for 12 years.  Judy is survived by her brother, L. Coleman Knight, her sister, Amy (Robert) Goffee, and two nephews, Roger Goffee and Nicholas Goffee.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may attend a memorial service for Judy on Thursday, May 25th at 2PM at the College Drive Presbyterian Church, located at 2 W High St, New Concord, OH. Pastor Anne Weirich will officiate, and burial will take place at a later date in Wooster Cemetery, located in Wooster, Ohio.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Morrison House for the care they provided to Judith, and ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Habitat for Humanity, 2268 NC Highway 5, Aberdeen, NC 28315.
