Jeffrey A. Jewell of Nashport, formerly of Philo, passed away after an illness on January 28, 2019 at The Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus. He was 61 years old.
Jeff was born in Zanesville on March 22, 1957. He is the son of the late Rolland Jewell and Shirley (Ross) Jewell Buckley, step-father, George Buckley of Zanesville.
Jeff worked as a self-employed carpenter for over 30 years with his brother’s company, Dan Jewell Construction. He was a bowler and avid golfer, having 2 hole-in-ones. He enjoyed many years playing pool in various leagues. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era stationed out of Norfolk, VA.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Linda Jewell, whom he married June, 9, 2001; his two children, Michael Chad Jewell and Tiffany Whitten both of Columbus; his two granddaughters; his five step-children, Lisa (Rick) Long of Blue Rock, LeeAnn (Tony) Moore of Duncan Falls, David Woodward Jr. of Nashport, Jack Shepherd of Zanesville and Joey (Lori) Shepherd of Philo; twelve step-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren;
his siblings, Danny (Diane) Jewell of Zanesville, Ronnie (Debbie) Jewell of Columbus, Gloria (Michael Clark) Snack of Palm Coast, Florida, Sandy Alton of Zanesville and Nancy Smith of Newark and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Walker and his step-granddaughter, Alison Lee Shepherd.
Full Military Honors will be at 2 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, by The U.S. Navy Color Guard, George Selsam VFW Post #1058 and American Legion Post #29.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.
