Helen M. VanWey

January 12, 1930 ~ October 15, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

 

Helen M. VanWey, 87 of Zanesville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 15, 2017 while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.

 

Helen was born in Logan, Ohio on January 12, 1930.  She is the daughter of the late Snowden and Fannie Johnson.  She worked at McCoy’s and the area Roseville and Crooksville potteries. She was a euchre player and belonged to card clubs. She was an avid  lifelong Red’s Baseball fan.

 

Helen is survived by her three children Blake VanWey of Zanesville, Brad  VanWey of Nashport and Mary Jane (Mark) Faulhaber of McConnelsville; her five grandchildren are Amber Dawn VanWey, Dessie Craig, Clint VanWey, Kelly Armbruster, and Joe Brewer and five great grandchildren; her brother Richard Johnson of Utica and her special cat Nellie.

 

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband Raymond F. VanWey who passed away on February 9, 2009; A son Bart A. VanWey, Sept 10, 2015, Two daughters Susie Brewer passed away 2008 and an infant Sheila VanWey. Two brothers Bill and Ray Johnson.

 

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours 2-4 & 6-8 on Friday, October 20, 2017 and from 9 to 10 on Saturday at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.  Funeral services will be 10 am on Saturday, with Rev Marc Caton officiating.  She will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
