Glenna Watson Obituary

Glenna Lucille McAdam Watson passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Wednesday June 21, 2018 while in the care of the Oaks at Bethesda, she was 94 years old.  Glenna was born in Caress, West Virginia on May 22, 1924 to Johnson and Ressie (Harper) Garber.  She was an amazing homemaker and cook, who enjoyed growing flowers and gardening.  She was a wonderful mother who cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She could often be found crocheting, knitting, or sewing and was renowned for making her daughters dresses for Easter and gifts at Christmas.  She especially loved going on trips with her family, square dancing, and listening to music.  She was a 4H advisor for a number of years, and member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of New Concord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Frank Vernon McAdam, her twins, Thelma and Russell, her second husband, Robert Watson, her brother, William Garber, her sisters Maxine Ables and Inabelle Buchanan, and her sons-in-law, Walter Gibson, Jr. and Loren Powell.  She is survived by her children, Pearl Gibson, Helen (Forest) Rose, Elizabeth (William) Hartfield, Margie (Robert) Wilfong, Dorothy (Neil) Shinn, Peggy (Mark) Hambel, her son, Ricky McAdam, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, her sisters, Betty (James) Yerian and Janet (Jerry) Taylor, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

          Friends and family may attend calling hours for Glenna on Monday, June 25 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord from 4 to 8PM.  Services will be held on Tuesday, the 26th at 11AM, with a calling hour beginning at 10AM.  Burial will follow at the New Concord Cemetery, and Pastors Keith Taylor and Mark Ballmer will officiate the services.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701for the kindness that they provided.
