The sun set on Eva Moorehead, 82, in the morning hours of Friday, June 30, 2017 while in the loving presence of her family; having passed with peace and grace after a long illness.  Her sunrise came on April 7, 1935, being born in Zanesville, Ohio to Harold and Anna (Minner) Green.   Eva faithfully loved and cared for her family and friends in so many ways, especially with her ability to cook and bake delicious foods from scratch, with treats ranging from her homemade macaroni and cheese, donuts, her “cinnamon pie things”,  in addition  to her other famous pies of all kinds; no one ever left hungry.  She was a member of the Tots to Teens Mother’s Club, and a devoted member of the New Concord United Methodist Church for over fifty years.  Eva was an enthusiastic supporter of the East Muskingum School district’s academic, athletic, and music programs from 1966 to 2017.  She loved to go camping, being at the fair, attend all sporting and musical events, traveling in the motor home, and spending time in her garden with her roses.  She also enjoyed playing Dominos, Kick the Can, Chinese checkers, and Uno with her grandchildren, and watching her great-grandchildren.  She and Russell were not only grandparents to just their grandchildren, they were often lovingly referred to as Grandma and Grandpa by many others as well.

Eva is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Russell Moorehead; her children, Becky (Harvey) Ritchey, Cindy (Jim) Woolf, Steve (Karen) Moorehead, Colleen Moorehead DeGarmo, and Vonda (Gary) Stewart; she will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Kevin (Jamie) Ritchey, Kelly (Kyle) Porter, Karey (Bryan) Bradley, Kay (Chris) McCabe, Eric (Brittany) Woolf, Ryan (Mindy) Woolf, Micah (Kacy) Woolf, Brad (Trisha) Moorehead, Jennifer (Jesse) Hitt, Caleb Stewart, Hannah Stewart, Elisabeth (Andrew) Ding, Matthew Stewart, and Nathan Stewart.  She also leaves to cherish her memory her great-grandchildren, Kaid and Jase Ritchey; Kinley, Kennadie, and Keston Porter; Kylie, Koby, Brianna, & Becca Bradley; Harlie & Copen McCabe; Elyse Woolf; Emma, Atia, and Haddie Woolf; Brenna and Wyatt Moorehead; Walker and Wilson Hitt; and Baby Ding who is on the way.  She will be fondly remembered by her sister, Mary Ruth Mock; and her childhood friend, Nancy Evans.  She is predeceased by her parents, her sister, Anna Rose (Harry) Ross, her brother-in-law, John Mock, her nephew, Greg Mock, and her mother and father-in-law, Aundah and Gilmore Moorehead.

Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours for Eva on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017 from the hours of 4 to 8pm at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord.  Services will follow on Monday the 3rd, with a calling hour starting at 10am; services will begin at 11am with pastor Craig Redecker officiating.  Burial will follow at the New Concord Cemetery

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from friends, her church family, her doctors, the Genesis Cancer and Hematology Care Staff, and the Genesis Homecare and Hospice Care Staff.  If you think of Eva and would like to do something in honor of her memory, make someone smile today.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to either Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701 or the New Concord United Methodist Church,  20 E High St, New Concord, OH 43762.
