Douglas Lee Yeary, 78, was called home to the Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2019, while in the loving presence of his family.  He was born on September 11, 1940, in Hamilton, Ohio to Clyde and Lura (Bailey) Yeary.  He was a man who loved to work the land and raised apples at Yeary’s Orchard in Muskingum County for over 57 years.  He also sold fruit trees for the Van Well Nursery in Washington.  Douglas proudly served as a US Marine and attended several churches over his lifetime with his current churches being The First Baptist Church in Dresden and the Bear Run Baptist Church in New Lexington.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty (Warren) Yeary, his daughter, Terri (Curtis) Phillips, his son, Douglas Yeary, II, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his sister Nancy (Jerry) Muskopf, his brother, Steve (Barbara) Yeary, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Yeary.

Friends and family are welcome to attend graveside services for Douglas on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 at 11 AM on the family farm located at Yeary’s Orchard.  Pastor Roger Mills will officiate services with burial immediately following.  Douglas rests now with the Lord and hopes to meet you all there in the future.  Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Family.
