Dolores J. Chappelear passed away in the evening hours of February 25, 2018 while in the care of Genesis Healthcare, she was 81 years old. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 23, 1936 to Edward and Gertrude (Fager) Croft. Dolores was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to travel, going on many trips, and helping people at Walmart. She worked in Housekeeping at Bethesda Hospital, and after retiring from there she went to work for Walmart and worked there for 12 years before her final retirement.
She is survived by her sons, Robert James Lawless, and James Lee Chappelear, her grandchildren, Lisa (Fricker) Dickinson, Denise Dickinson, Dustin Chappelear, Stephen Heskett, Marina Wharton, great- grandchildren, Lela Wharton, Stryker Wharton, Stephen Heskett, Jr., Natiley Heskett, Damien Dickinsonas well as 3 more great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her cousins, and numerous nieces, nephews, former coworkers, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Jerry F. Lawless, her second husband, Orin Chappelear, her son, Will Chappelear, her daughter, Diana Dickinson, her great-grandson, Dominic Dickinson, her sister, Martha Hauer, and sister, Carol Croft.
Friends and family may attend calling hours for Dolores at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord, on Saturday, March the 3rd from 11 to 1PM, services will be held at 1PM with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Norwich United Presbyterian Cemetery.
