Daryel Conley Canter

    Conley Canter of Guernsey County stepped into the light on Sunday, October 14th, 2018 at the age of 55. He was born on February 13th, 1963 in Columbus Ohio to Anthony and Glenna (Browning) Canter.  A Christian by faith, he was raised in Whitehall, Ohio where he made numerous lifelong friends.  He was a graduate of Whiteall Yearling High School and Mansfield Business College.  He retired from the Muskingum County Library serving as a branch manager of the Duncan Falls/Philo location.  His hobbies were working on his house and the farm that he built, raising cattle, swine, and poultry, playing with his grandchildren, and watching Ohio State Football.  Conley lived an exciting full life with many adventures and is at peace with is next big adventure. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kim Canter, his two children, Zack (Cristin) Canter and Erica Canter, his grandchildren Willow and Storm Canter, and Elle Fivecoait, father, James “Big Jim” Wilson, his brothers, Rick Canter, Tom Wilson, Mark (Alysia) Wilson, his step-siblings Cindi Parkinson, Jimmy Wilson, and Bill Wilson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Glenna (Browning) Wilson, his father, Anthony “Tony” Canter, and grandmother, Matilda Browning. 

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours for Conley at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 from 4 to 7pm.  Services will follow the next day at the funeral home at 11am.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, he has requested that family and friends make a small donation to the Muskingum County Library Children’s Department.
