Carl E. Coleman, 93, of Philo went to meet his loving Father, surrounded by loving family on December 7, 2018 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
Carl was born on February 2, 1925 in Blue Rock. He is the son of Orville and Maude Coleman. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. Carl loved hunting, fishing, gardening (especially his tomatoes) and playing with his many grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Waveline “Wava” Coleman of 68 years; five children, Caroline (Ron) Gottke, Carlotta (Eric) Dickson, Carl (Connie) Coleman, Oscar (Amber) Coleman and Roxanne (Paul) Roush; his grandchildren: Sherry (Larry) Hatcher, Ron Gottke, Michael (Amber) Dickson, Matthew (Jess) Dickson, Carrie (Louis) Wisecarver, Terry (Brittany) Gottke, Carson (Cody) Chapman, Misty Jones, Mindy Coleman, David (Brandy) Coleman, Paul (April) Roush, Carrie Pharoah, Collene (Robert) Collier, Amber (Gregory) Userry, Kendal (Primo) D’Alessandro, Cody (Brittany) Basehart and Angela Cramer; 37 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Coleman and two sisters, Alberta Winland and Lelia Croy.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of the Morrison House for their kindness and loving care. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Morrison House or Cornerstone South Church of McConnelsville.
Visitations will be 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, where services will be held at 1pm with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Blue Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
