Vincent Eugene Wahl departed this life to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 10, 2018 at 11:33 PM in the Zanesville, Ohio Morrison House.
Born November 8, 1953 he was the first born son of Donald and Donna (Wilson) Wahl whom he faithfully honored all his life. Vince was a lifelong resident of Philo where he was known and loved by many. He held various jobs including Ohio Ferro Alloy, Master’s Touch Painting, and his family’s business, D & C Refuse.
Vince was known for being a hard worker and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to others. He took particular pride in his yard and home and believed that a job worth doing was worth doing well. He never threw a scrap piece of wood or pipe away “because you never know when you might need it”. He loved to tinker in his building.
Vince will always be remembered for being a “talker”. He loved to sit and tell stories and share memories with others. His greatest gift was being an encourager and he shared it liberally with everyone he met. Feeling uplifted and like you were the most important person in the world was often the result of a conversation with Vince.
Vince deeply loved his family. He is survived by wife Darla (Rittenhouse) Wahl, the love of his life, whom he married on June 22, 1991; his pride and joy, son Joel (Charity) Wahl of Duncan Falls; four treasured siblings Jeff (Amy) Wahl of Gallipolis; Keith (Stephanie) Wahl of Duncan Falls; Sherry (Chris) Roberts of Philo; and Jimmy (Lori) Wahl of Nashport; three amazing grandchildren, Emma Grace, Milee Claire, and Solomon Joel; his precious Aunt Susie and Uncle Larry Sherburn of Newark; Aunt Patty (Wes) Wilson of Duncan Falls; two beloved sisters-in-law, Carol Rittenhouse and Lisa (Jim) Driscoll both of Zanesville; and many treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his very special Uncle, Clarence “Chuck” Murray; Aunt Louella Murray, and Uncle Wes Wilson.
Friends may call from 3 pm to 7 pm on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls where funeral services, celebration of his life, will be held on Saturday at 11 am, with his brother, James Wahl officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care in honor of Vince and in recognition of the professional and personal comfort care they lovingly provided for Vince and the family.
