Carolyn Kay Carpenter, 74 of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2019 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Carolyn was born January 24, 1945 in Derwent. She is the daughter of the late Cecil and Minnie (Sanderson) King. She worked for Meridian Plastics and for Champion Sparkplug for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and gardening and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her four children, Brenda (John) Reese of Byesville, Larry (Shannon) Carpenter of Cumberland, Gary Carpenter of Dexter City and Jerry (Jessie) Carpenter of Cumberland; her nine grandchildren, Kara(Bill) Cramblett, Tiffany (Justin) Morris, Zac Carpenter, Ricky Hill, Sharon (David) White, Joel Reese, Michael Carpenter, Maddie Carpenter and Mollie Carpenter; her great grandchildren, Dakota Hill, Colten Hill, Brookelyn Hill, Sophia Cramblett, Lleyton Morris, Payce Morris and Emma White; her brother, Carl (Elaine) King; her sister, Nancy (Dale) Phillis; several nieces and nephews and her fur-baby, Betsy.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Carpenter, who passed away on February 10, 2014; her brother, Leonard King and her sister, Leona Hrinko.
Visitations will be 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Farus Funeral Home of Cumberland, 343 West Main Street, Cumberland, Ohio. Funeral Services will be 11 am on Friday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Chandlersville.
