Betty Lou Saxton, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Zanesville on March 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Genesis Hospice.
Betty was born in Zanesville on December 18, 1944. She is the daughter of the late Harold O. and Dorothy (Dailey) Paxton. Betty loved taking care of her flowers and enjoyed her many trips to Cracker Barrel with her family. She enjoyed taking car rides, cookout’s, birthday party, as well as spending time at the Carr Center, where she made many friends over the years. She enjoyed attending church, but biggest passion in life was taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her children, Tony E. Saxton, John W. (Karen) Saxton, Priscilla (Earl) Goldsmith, Harold Saxton and Charles (Amber New) Saxton; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and her sister Gerry Saxton.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by husband, Charles Saxton Sr.; her infant son, Charles Michael Saxton; two grandsons, Joshua Saxton and John Saxton Jr.; a granddaughter, Kelly Saxton; great granddaughter, Ottum Wallace; and her sister, Judy Winters.
Visitations will by 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be 1 pm on Monday. Pastor Aaron Bounds will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Zanesville.
