Wilma J. Franklin

Wilma J. Franklin, 80 of Philo, formerly of Columbus, passed away at 1:48 pm on Friday May 15, 2015 at her residence.

Wilma was born April 20th, 1935 in East Palestine, Ohio, the daughter of the late George Flemming and Ethel (Hartman) Flemming.  She retired from Ohio State University and was a lifetime member of Linden Eagles #2252 women’s auxiliary.

Wilma is survived by her children James Edward (Toni) Franklin of Oakdale, CT, Gail Sue Franklin-Smith of Blue Rock, Irvin Downard (Sook Cha) Franklin of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren Perry Martin Franklin II, Jason Aaron Smith, Sarah Elizabeth Wolfe, Kara Elise Jones, Rachel Ann Martell, James Edward Franklin II and Nathan Andrew Franklin and her 9 great grandchildren; her brothers George (Dorothy) Flemming, William Flemming and Larry (Ilse) Flemming.

In addition to her parents, Wilma is preceded in death by her husband Perry Martin Franklin; her step-son Robert Michael Hudson; her sisters Janet (Flemming) McDowell and Ethel (Flemming) York, and her brother Kenneth Flemming.

In keeping with her wishes, Wilma’s body will be cremated and no services will be observed.
