ROBERT JOSEPH DICKS SR., 62, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Robert was born March 10, 1955 in Zanesville, Ohio to John and Shirley (Bailey) Dicks Jr.  He was graduated from Philo High School in 1972 and Marine Corp boot camp following. He served in Vietnam as a weapons specialist. He was married to Tonia Annette Lewis, having three children. Robert was an avid collector of history and stories. He enjoyed fishing, arrow head collecting, hunting, Pow Wows and was known as Ravens Shadow of the Bear Cherron-Hoka Nottaway. He also enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his father, John Joseph Dicks Jr. of Zanesville, OH; his two sons, Ian Joseph (Brittnee) William Dicks of Manhattan, KS and Robert Joseph Dicks Jr. of Zanesville, OH and daughter Jessica Koren Dicks of Zanesville, OH; five grandchildren, his brother Johnny (Tiffany) Dicks III; his sister Nathalie (Pete) Van Sickle and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Anne (Bailey) Dicks and his brother John Darwin Dicks.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 10 to 11 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main Street, Duncan Falls, OH.  Funeral services will follow the visitations at 11 am with Pastor Terry Rowland officiating.  A Native American burial ritual will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
