Myron David Dawson, 71, of New Concord, died on Monday, July 3, 2017 in his home. 

He was born on August 23, 1945 in Zanesville, a son of the late William and Bernice Dawson.  He retired after forty-two years as a power lineman for Guernsey-Muskingum Electric. 

Myron was a lifelong member and an Elder of Rix Mills Presbyterian Church; he belonged to the Percheron Association, and was a 4-H Advisor for over twenty years. He bred Percheron draft horses and raised beef cattle; as he enjoyed country living, but his favorite pastime was cheering on his sons and grandchildren in sports, music, and life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and he enjoyed visiting with friends and family, sharing his stories and jokes. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon; sons, Troy (Janeen) and Cam (Linda); grandchildren, Brianna, Claire, Janessa, and Liam; siblings, Cay (Buddy) Larrison, Logan (Vicki) Dawson, and Clayton (Debbie) Dawson; brothers-in-law, John Huhn, and Mark (Chris) Engle; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jackie Huhn; and infant brother, David Dawson. 

                Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Myron at the Rix Mills Presbyterian Church on Thursday July 6, 2017 from 4 to 8PM.  Services will be held the following day on Friday the 7th at 11AM; with a calling hour beginning at 10AM.  Burial will take place at the Rich Hill Cemetery, and Pastor Jim Gibson will officiate services.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations are made to the Rix Mills Presbyterian Church, 2770 Rix Mills Rd, New Concord, OH 43762.  Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the family.
