Josephine Marie Calvin

Josephine Marie Calvin passed away peacefully in her home on October 25, 2017, she was 96 years old. She was born in Ravenna, Ohio on June 23, 1921 the daughter of Lotta and Tracey Lewis. Josephine was an avid reader, and a true friend of the library. She loved to garden, oil painted for a time, and refurbished furniture for fun. She retired from the United States Post Office, and had an article by Ann Landers dedicated to her service there.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruthmarie Keffer, and her son, David Lee Calvin, as well as her grandchildren, Megan, Captain Brian (Lisa), Joshua Lee (Adrianne), and Erin (Lloyd) France, whom Josephine cared for and raised as her daughter. She will be deeply missed by her 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special sentiment of gratitude to her neighbors, Tom and Becky Baughman, and her amazing caretaker, Mashelle, who was instrumental in her independence and well-being. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dana, a grandson, Tim Keffer, and a son-in-law, Wiliam Keffer.
An internment will take place in Ravenna, Ohio on Monday, the 30th of October. She has been entrusted into the care of the Farus funeral home of New Concord.
