John Roy Marshall

John Roy Marshall passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 3, 2017. He was 92 years old.  John was born on November 20th, 1924 in Bloomfield, Ohio to John M. and Bessy (Camp) Marshall.  John was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed coon hunting.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and when he returned home he married Mary Mildred Willis of Winterset in April of 1952.  Roy also worked for Nicolazakes Trucking and drove a school bus for East Muskingum School District for 32 years.  He served as an Adams Township Trustee for 30 years.

                Roy is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Mary Pidcock, Martha McCall, Ethel Montgomery, and a daughter, Vivian Barber.  He will be greatly missed by his wife, Mary Mildred, his children, John P. and Sandy Marshall, Janet P. and Jeremy Brockwell, Beverly Marshall, his son-in-law, Bill Barber, five grandchildren including Ryan (Jodi) Marshall, Jamie Allen, Lee (Teresa) Barber, Lindsay (Marc) Woten, and Amanda (Tyler) Vordenberg, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

                A private family service will be held at the Bloomfield United Presbyterian Church on Sunday, October, 8, 2017.  A burial will follow at the Bloomfield Cemetery.  Pastor Tim Pollock will officiate services; Farus Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of the Marshall family and is handling all arrangements.
