Jimmy D. Shepherd

Jimmie D. “Cricket” Shepherd, 60, of Philo passed away unexpectedly at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  Jim was born in Muskingum County on March 3, 1957.  He is the son of the late Thomas Jack Shepherd Sr. and Harriett Betty (Thomas) Shepherd.


Jim retired from OK Coal in 2015, where he worked as a mechanic and truck driver.  He loved watching and attending demolition derbies, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a Michigan Wolverines fan, he loved building puzzles and riding on his golf cart with his grandson.

 

Jim is survived by his wife Vickie (Lytle) Shepherd, whom he married September 8, 1979; his two daughters Jamie (Jimmy) Dady of Roseville and Jemma (Bill) Maxwell of Caldwell; his grandson Justin Dady; his brothers Mark Shepherd of Philo and a special friend Dave Dady of Zanesville and Gene Gill of Duncan Falls.

 

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his two grandchildren Alivia Mae Dady and Jack Thomas Dady and his three brothers Thomas ‘Jack’ Shepherd, John Shepherd and D. Bruce Shepherd.

 

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Jim from 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held 11 am Friday.  Rick Tanner will officiate the service.  He will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
