James Charles McKendry

James C. McKendry passed away in the warm and loving presence of his family on Thursday, May 28th while in the care of Good Samaritan Hospital, he was 67 years old.  He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on April 4th, 1948 to Lester and Charlotte McKendry.  He worked as a truck driver, loved to watch gameshows, play bingo, and mow grass.  He rooted and cheered on OSU football team, and always watched the Indians and Browns when they played.

                He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Betty McKendry, and his infant brother, Robert McKendry.  He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cindy Hickman McKendry, their daughters, Shelly (Bobby) Bennett and Terri McKendry, as well as his granddaughter, Kaleigh Bennett.  He will be deeply missed by his brothers, Don (Jean) McKendry and John (Lucille) McKendry, and his sister, Evelyn (Patrick O’Rourke) Hayes, his sisters-in-law, Lucy Fritter, Sharon Sedor, and Lisa (Dale) Lyons, brothers-in-law, Scott (jenny) Hickman, and Dwayne (Ed) Hickman, and a father-in-law, George (Jeannine) Hickman; and his beloved dogs, Rosie and Petie.

                Calling hours will be held at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Monday, June 1st from 5 to 8PM.  Services will be held on Tuesday the 2nd at 11am sharp, with a one hour viewing time preceeding at 10am.  Interment will be held by the family privately at a later date.
