Hope Buchanan

Hope E. Buchanan, 54 of Zanesville, passed away under the care of Genesis Hospice, at her residence on May 29, 2015 in the presence of her loving family.  Hope was born in Zanesville, Ohio on February 9th, 1961; the daughter of Grace Babcock, and the late Dorsel Babcock.  She was a proud employee of Genesis Healthcare, and enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren, friends and family. 

Hope is survived by her husband, Randy Buchanan, whom she married April 11, 1981; their children including, Tyler (Kelli) Buchanan, Jordan (Alexa) Buchanan, Regan Buchanan and Lindsay (Wesley) Marling; as well as her grandchildren Hayleigh, Parker, Scarlett, Blaise and Briley; her siblings Kathy (Bill) Green, Charles Babcock, Robert (Sandy) Babcock, Michael (Debbie) Babcock, Brian (Debbie) Babcock, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Hope at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8 pm, with a prayer service beginning promptly at 7:45pm; which will conclude visitations for the evening.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church on Thursday, June 4th, 2015 at 10:30 am with Father Martin Ralco as Celebrant.  Hope will be laid to rest in St. Paul Cemetery in Zanesville.

            The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the compassion and care provided by the staff of Genesis Hospice and the Genesis Cancer Treatment Services of Zanesville.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Nicholas Parish, 925 E Main St, Zanesville, OH 43701, whose support and spiritual guidance soothed their spirits these last few months.
