Harold Edwin Elson

Harold Edwin Elson, 76, of Chandlersville passed away Thursday morning, September 7, 2017 at his home.  Harold was born September 27, 1940 in Zanesville. He is the son of the late Frank and Lottie (Shipman) Elson.  Harold retired from Burnham Boiler in 1996 after 32 years of service.  He was a member of the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Zanesville, and the DAV.  He served his country in the Army for six years during the Vietnam Conflict.

Harold is survived by four sons Gary (Petra) Elson of Blue Rock, Harold (Kandie) Elson of Mount Perry, Frank  (Jeanette) Elson of Chandlersville and George (Tonya) Elson of Nashport; his daughters, Theresa (James) McGee of Frazeysburg, Dolla Jo (Maurice) McGlothlin of Thornville and Pam Settles of WI; his sisters Ruth Pyle of Zanesville, Linda VanDyne of Zanesville, Betty Smith and Gladys (Charles) Fisher of Zanesville; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his wife Gladys M. Elson who passed away August 11, 2002; a daughter Gena Elson and his brothers Charles, Robert, and Billy Elson and four sisters Evelyn Huddleston, Virginia Lyons, Mary Grandstaff and Helen Elson.

Family and friends are welcome to attend calling hours for Harold from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 2:30 pm, Saturday with Donald Rowland officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Chandlersville Cemetery with full military honors provided by George Selsam Post 1058 and American Legion Post #29.
