Dale Lester Wright

Dale Lester Wright went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 29, 2018 while in the care of the Astoria Place of Cambridge; he was 77 years old.  He was born on September 21, 1940 in Portage, PA to Lester and Hyla (Crum) Wright.  He worked as a foreman at GE for 37 years, he enjoyed gardening, and attending Southern Gospel concerts.  He was a member of the Solid Rock Wesleyan Church, where he served as a Board Member and taught Sunday School Class.  He was also a Boy Scout leader in Cambridge.  Dale was a kind and loving husband, and a wonderful father.  His devotion to his family was unwavering.  He was lovingly called “Pap” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

                He is preceded in death by his parents, and his step-mother, Ruth Lang Wright.  Dale is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Betty (Nutter) Wright, whom he married on August 2nd, 1980.  His memory will be forever cherished by his daughters, Karen (Rick) Kronk), Dee (Kenny) Implemence, and Tara (Kevin) Hansen, his sons, Greg (Carrie) Whiteman, Mike (Gina) Whiteman, and Brad (Cheri) Whiteman.  He will be deeply missed by his 3 sisters, Donna Thomas, Suzan (Artie) Sanders, Beckie (Mike) Makin, his two brothers, Don (Pat Bumgardener) Lang, and David Lang.  He will never be forgotten by his 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren including his special sandbox buddy, grandson, Tanner Whiteman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and his friends at College Drive Presbyterian Church of New Concord, where he worked as a custodian for 12 years.

                Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours from 2 to 6PM on Friday February 2nd, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord; services will begin at 6pm with Pastors Lee Canning and Bruce Coulson.  A comforting and caring cremation will follow services per his family’s wishes.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Solid Rock Wesleyan Church, 832 Sherman Ave. Cambridge, Ohio  43725.
