Betty L. Dearstine

Betty L. Deartstine,83, of Philo passed away at 1:19 am on Monday, February 23rd, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Betty was born March 19th, 1931 in Madison Township, to the late Walter and Phyllis Poorman Thomas.
She retired in 1993 from Franklin Local School District, where she served as a cook. Betty attended the Philo United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters Carolyn (Sue) (Randy) Derry of New Concord and Debra A. Hellems of the Philo. A son Walter Dearstine of McConnelsville. Her sister Rita M. Conn of Pataskala and Robert (Joanne) Thomas of Norwich. Five grandchildren: Cheryl, Amy, Jim, Heather, and Ian. 9 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband Donald Dearstine whom she was married to for 57 years who passed on February 2, 2008 and a brother Gerald Thomas.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Tuesday at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls where the funeral will be 1 pm on Wednesday with the Rev Tim Patton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Philo United Methodist Church or to the Genesis Morrison House.
